Frequently Asked Questions | Atelier Voyage

Question 1

How does the Atelier Voyage planning process work?

Accepted Answer

Start by completing a travel inquiry through our website. Brenda personally reviews every request and responds with your personalized next steps by email — typically within one business day. For most trips, a phone or video consultation is not required upfront. If your itinerary is complex or you have questions that are easier to discuss, you will have the option to schedule a brief 15-minute consultation after your inquiry is reviewed.

Question 2

Do I have to schedule a phone call to get started?

Accepted Answer

No. You can start entirely online by submitting a travel inquiry through our website. Brenda reviews every request personally and sends your next steps by email. A consultation is available if you need it — but it is not required as the first step.

Question 3

Is the consultation complimentary?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A 15-minute consultation with Brenda is complimentary and carries no obligation. For complex custom itineraries — multi-city international travel, groups, destination weddings, or extended bespoke journeys — a longer consultation may be scheduled as needed.

Question 4

Does Atelier Voyage charge planning fees?

Accepted Answer

For most bookings — cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and tour packages — there is no planning fee. Atelier Voyage earns a commission from the supplier when you book. For complex custom itineraries, a professional planning fee may apply. Any applicable fee is always disclosed and approved before personalized planning begins.

Question 5

How far in advance should I start planning?

Accepted Answer

The earlier you start, the more options are available — particularly for cruises, group travel, and international itineraries. For most trips, reaching out at least six months before your travel dates is a good starting point. For peak season, holidays, and popular sailings, nine to twelve months is recommended. Last-minute bookings are possible but availability and pricing are more limited.

Question 6

Do you work with travelers outside your area?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage works with travelers nationwide. The planning process takes place by email and, when needed, by phone or video call — so location is never a barrier.

Question 7

How quickly will I hear back after submitting an inquiry?

Accepted Answer

Brenda personally reviews every inquiry and typically responds within one business day. After you submit your travel request, there is no need to call — your information has been received and will be reviewed. You will receive your personalized next steps by email.

Question 8

What are the stages of the client journey?

Accepted Answer

The Atelier Voyage client journey moves through these stages: Travel Profile Completed → Request Received → Request Under Review → Personalized Next Steps → Proposal → Client Approval → Secure Traveler Information → Reservations Confirmed → Pre-Departure → Travel → Welcome Home. Brenda personally oversees each stage and keeps you informed throughout.

Question 9

How do deposits work?

Accepted Answer

Most travel suppliers require a deposit at the time of booking to hold your reservation. Deposit amounts vary by supplier, destination, and travel dates. Brenda will clearly outline the deposit requirement before any booking is made.

Question 10

Are payment plans available?

Accepted Answer

Many travel suppliers offer installment payment options between the initial deposit and the final payment due date. Availability depends on the supplier and the type of booking. Brenda can walk you through the payment schedule for your specific trip.

Question 11

When is final payment due?

Accepted Answer

Final payment due dates vary by supplier and booking type. For most cruises and tour packages, final payment is due 60 to 90 days before departure. For all-inclusive resorts, it may be closer to 30 days. Your exact due date will be included in your booking confirmation.

Question 12

How do I authorize payment for my reservation?

Accepted Answer

Confirmed clients submit payment authorization securely through the Atelier Voyage Secure Traveler Portal at ateliervoyagetravel.com/traveler-portal. Please never send credit card numbers, security codes, or payment information by email or text message.

Question 13

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellation policies are set by the travel supplier — not by Atelier Voyage — and vary by booking type, supplier, and how far in advance you cancel. Most bookings have a penalty-free cancellation window early on, with increasing penalties as the departure date approaches. Brenda will review the specific cancellation terms with you before booking.

Question 14

Can I make changes to my reservation after booking?

Accepted Answer

Changes are often possible but may be subject to availability, change fees, or fare differences depending on the supplier and the type of change. Contact Brenda as soon as you know a change is needed and she will work with the supplier on your behalf.

Question 15

What is the refund policy if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Refund eligibility depends entirely on the supplier's cancellation policy and how far in advance you cancel. Some bookings are fully refundable within a cancellation window; others are non-refundable after the deposit. This is why travel insurance is strongly recommended — it can protect your investment if you need to cancel for a covered reason.

Question 16

Can I request changes to a proposal or quote?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Proposals are a starting point, not a final answer. Brenda is happy to revise dates, destinations, cabin categories, resort options, or budget parameters. Just let her know what you would like to adjust and she will prepare a revised proposal.

Question 17

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage strongly recommends travel insurance for every trip. Travel insurance can protect your investment against trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical emergencies abroad, emergency evacuation, lost or delayed baggage, and travel delays. The cost of not having insurance when something goes wrong is almost always far greater than the premium.

Question 18

What types of travel insurance are available?

Accepted Answer

Common options include trip cancellation and interruption coverage, medical and emergency evacuation coverage, baggage protection, and Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) upgrades. CFAR allows you to cancel for reasons not otherwise covered and receive a partial reimbursement — typically 50 to 75 percent of non-refundable costs. Brenda can walk you through the options that fit your trip.

Question 19

When should I purchase travel insurance?

Accepted Answer

As soon as possible after making your initial deposit — ideally within 14 to 21 days. Purchasing early maximizes your coverage window and may make you eligible for pre-existing condition waivers and Cancel for Any Reason upgrades, which are typically only available shortly after the initial deposit.

Question 20

How long does my passport need to be valid?

Accepted Answer

Most countries require your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Some destinations require only three months of validity. Always check the specific entry requirements for your destination well in advance. For current requirements, visit travel.state.gov.

Question 21

Do I need a visa for my destination?

Accepted Answer

Visa requirements vary by destination and by your citizenship. Brenda will flag any known visa requirements for your itinerary, but for the most current and authoritative information, always check travel.state.gov (for U.S. citizens) or the official embassy website for your destination country.

Question 22

What traveler information will I need to provide?

Accepted Answer

For most bookings, you will need to provide full legal names (as they appear on your passport), dates of birth, passport numbers and expiration dates, and emergency contact information. This information is submitted securely through the Atelier Voyage Secure Traveler Portal — never by email or text.

Question 23

How do I submit my traveler information and documents?

Accepted Answer

Confirmed clients submit traveler profiles, passport information, and payment authorization through the Atelier Voyage Secure Traveler Portal at ateliervoyagetravel.com/traveler-portal. Please do not send passport images, credit card numbers, or other sensitive information by email or text message.

Question 24

When will I receive my travel documents?

Accepted Answer

Final travel documents — including confirmations, itineraries, and any tickets or vouchers — are typically provided in the weeks before departure. The exact timing depends on the supplier. Brenda will send you a pre-departure package with everything you need before you leave.

Question 25

Can you book flights?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage can book flights as part of a complete travel package. For standalone flight-only bookings, booking directly with the airline or through a flight search tool is often more efficient. Our greatest value is in full trip planning — combining flights, accommodations, transfers, and experiences into a seamless itinerary.

Question 26

When is the best time to book flights?

Accepted Answer

For domestic flights, booking one to three months in advance typically offers good pricing. For international flights, three to six months in advance is generally recommended. For peak travel periods — holidays, spring break, summer — booking earlier is always better. Brenda can advise on the best timing for your specific itinerary.

Question 27

Can you book cruises?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — cruises are one of Atelier Voyage's specialties. Brenda books ocean cruises, river cruises, expedition cruises, and luxury yacht charters across all major cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Disney Cruise Line, Viking, Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, Oceania, Seabourn, and more.

Question 28

How do I choose the right cruise cabin?

Accepted Answer

Cabin choice depends on your budget and how much time you plan to spend in the room. Interior cabins are the most affordable. Ocean-view cabins add a window. Balcony cabins are popular for scenic itineraries like Alaska or Norway. Suites offer the most space, priority boarding, and often dedicated concierge service. Brenda will help you find the best value for your needs and sailing.

Question 29

What is included in a cruise fare?

Accepted Answer

Standard cruise fares typically include your cabin, most meals in the main dining room and buffet, entertainment, and basic onboard activities. Not usually included: specialty dining, alcoholic beverages, shore excursions, gratuities, spa services, and Wi-Fi. Luxury lines like Regent Seven Seas, Silversea, and Seabourn often include most or all of these in the fare.

Question 30

Can you book shore excursions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage can pre-book shore excursions, private tours, cooking classes, wine tastings, and other experiences at your ports of call. Booking in advance ensures availability and often provides a better experience than booking through the cruise line directly.

Question 31

How do I choose the right cruise line?

Accepted Answer

The right cruise line depends on your travel style, budget, and what you want out of the trip. Contemporary lines like Royal Caribbean and Norwegian offer the most onboard activity and are great for families. Premium lines like Celebrity and Holland America offer a more refined experience. Luxury lines like Regent, Silversea, and Seabourn are all-inclusive and highly personalized. Brenda will match you to the right line for your trip.

Question 32

Can you plan Disney vacations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage plans Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney vacations. Disney planning involves a lot of moving parts — park tickets, dining reservations, resort selection, Lightning Lane strategy, and more. Having an advisor who knows the system makes a meaningful difference in the experience.

Question 33

Is there a fee to book Disney through Atelier Voyage?

Accepted Answer

No. Disney vacation packages booked through Atelier Voyage are priced the same as booking directly with Disney. Atelier Voyage earns a commission from Disney, so there is no additional cost to you — and you get expert guidance and support throughout the process.

Question 34

Can you plan Universal vacations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage can plan Universal Orlando Resort vacations, including on-site hotel stays, park tickets, and Express Pass options. Universal's on-site hotels offer significant perks including complimentary Express Pass access at select properties.

Question 35

Which Hawaiian island is right for me?

Accepted Answer

Each island has a distinct character. Oahu is the most accessible and best for first-time visitors. Maui is the most popular for couples and honeymooners, with a wide range of experiences. Kauai is the most dramatic and best for outdoor enthusiasts. The Big Island offers volcanic landscapes and diverse ecosystems. Lanai is the most exclusive and secluded. Brenda can help you choose the right island — or combination of islands — for your trip.

Question 36

What are the best all-inclusive resorts in Mexico?

Accepted Answer

Mexico's Riviera Maya and Los Cabos are home to some of the finest all-inclusive resorts in the world, including Excellence Playa Mujeres, Secrets Resorts, Sandos, Barcelo, and the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara collections. The right resort depends on your travel style, group composition, and budget. Brenda will match you to the best option for your trip.

Question 37

What Caribbean destinations do you recommend?

Accepted Answer

The Caribbean offers a wide range of experiences. The Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) and Jamaica are popular for all-inclusive resorts. St. Lucia and Barbados offer a more boutique, upscale experience. The Turks and Caicos are known for exceptional beaches and water clarity. Aruba has consistent sunshine and a lively resort scene. Brenda can help you find the right island for your travel style and budget.

Question 38

Are all-inclusive resorts really all-inclusive?

Accepted Answer

Most all-inclusive resorts include accommodations, meals, snacks, non-premium beverages, and basic entertainment. What varies is the quality and breadth of what is included — premium liquor, specialty restaurants, spa access, water sports, and off-site excursions are often extra. Brenda will help you understand exactly what is included at any resort you are considering.

Question 39

Can you arrange group travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage specializes in group travel including family reunions, milestone celebrations, destination weddings, corporate retreats, and friends' trips. Groups of ten or more often qualify for group rates, complimentary amenities, and dedicated group coordinator support. The earlier you start planning a group trip, the better the options.

Question 40

Do you specialize in honeymoon planning?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Honeymoon planning is one of Atelier Voyage's specialties. Brenda works with couples to design a honeymoon that reflects their travel style — whether that is an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora, a villa on the Amalfi Coast, a luxury safari, or a Caribbean resort. Many suppliers offer complimentary honeymoon amenities when booked through a travel advisor.

Question 41

Do you plan family vacations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Atelier Voyage plans family vacations for all ages and group sizes — from beach resort getaways to Disney vacations to multi-generational international trips. Brenda takes into account the ages of children, activity preferences, and the logistics of traveling as a family to design a trip that works for everyone.

Question 42

Do you plan international travel?

Accepted Answer

Yes. International travel is a core part of what Atelier Voyage does — European itineraries, African safaris, South Pacific escapes, Japan, Australia, and beyond. For complex multi-country itineraries, a professional planning fee may apply. Brenda will discuss this upfront before any planning begins.

Question 43

What pre-departure information will I receive?

Accepted Answer

Before your trip, Brenda will send a pre-departure package that includes your confirmed itinerary, booking confirmations, check-in instructions, packing suggestions, destination tips, and any other information relevant to your trip. You will have everything you need before you leave.

Question 44

What support is available during my trip?

Accepted Answer

Atelier Voyage is available during your trip for assistance with the arrangements that were booked through us. If something goes wrong — a flight disruption, a hotel issue, a supplier problem — contact Brenda and she will work with the appropriate supplier on your behalf.

Question 45

What happens if there is an emergency during my trip?

Accepted Answer

For medical emergencies or safety situations, always contact local emergency services first. If you have travel insurance with emergency evacuation coverage, contact your insurance provider's emergency line. Brenda is also available to assist with coordinating with suppliers and helping you navigate the situation.

Question 46

Will I receive a confirmation when I book a consultation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When you schedule a consultation, you will automatically receive a confirmation email with the appointment details, a calendar invitation, and a reminder before your scheduled time. If you need to reschedule, a rescheduling link is included in your confirmation.
